Our Classes

At FDC we have many classes and programs to suite your dancer’s needs that include but are not limited to; recreational dance, competitive dance, performance dance, teaching opportunities, etc. We offer an annual Recital Showcase as well as participation in conventions and competitions. We also have an annual Aerial Dance Showcase set in our beautiful 2nd location facility: DPU in Arnold.

Aerial

Ages 5-18

Beginner Aerial

Ages 5-8 & 9-18

Designed for students with little to no experience. Students will learn basic skills including, climbing, inverting & wrapping building strength, confidence and flexibility. Our beginner classes will work with various apparatuses including aerial silks, lyra, trapeze and hammock and are separated into two ages groups: 5-8 years old and 9-18 years old.

Intermediate Aerial

Ages 5-8 & 9-18

Teacher approval required for registering - email to enroll. Intermediate aerial is for students that have taken 2 or more years of aerial. Dancers must be able to climb to the ceiling and invert in the air. Dancers must also have an extensive knowledge of all locks and wraps on aerial silks. In addition to aerial silks, the students will also train on the hammock, lyra and trapeze. Students will continue to learn more challenging drops and wraps with close teacher supervision.  Our intermediate classes are separated into two age groups: 5-8 years old and 9-18 years old.

Advanced Aerial

Ages 9-11 & 12-18

Teacher Approval Required for registering - email to enroll. Designed for students that have taken aerial for 2-3 years at FDC. Dancers must be able to climb to the ceiling and invert in the air. Dancers must have an extensive knowledge of all locks & wraps on aerial silks. In addition to silks, students will also train on the hammock, lyra and trapeze. Students will continue to learn more challenging drops and wraps with close teacher supervision.  Our advanced classes are separated into two age groups: 9-11 years old & 12-18 years old.

Sprouts

Ages 2-3

A 30 minute introductory class teaching fundamentals of Tap steps, Ballet positions, creative movement and listening skills. Sprouts accommodates dancers 2-3 years of age. Dancers will need black tie up tap shoes and pink canvas ballet shoes for this class. 

Seedlings

Ages 3-5

A 60 minute combination class teaching Tap, Jazz and Ballet fundamentals. This class focuses on basic technique, rhythm and creative movement. Seedlings accommodates dancers 3-5 years of age. Dancers will need black tie up shoes and pink canvas ballet shoes for this class. 

Mini Acro

Ages 2-5

 A 15 minute add on class for dancers wanting to learn basic acrobatic skills and coordination. Mini Acro accommodates dancers 2-5 years of age. Dancers require no shoes for this class. 

Cheer & Tumble

Ages 4-7

A 30 minute class teaching basic cheer/poms positions, floor tumbling skills, and partner stunts. Mini Cheer and Tumble accommodates dancers 4-7 years of age. Dancers require no shoes for this class. 

Blossoms

Ages 5-7

A 60 minute combination class teaching Tap, Jazz and Ballet fundamentals. This class focuses on strength, coordination and creative movement. Accommodates dancers 5-7 years of age. Dancers require black tie up tap shoes and black jazz shoes for this class. 

Mini Hip Hop

Ages 4-7

A movement based class that focuses on fun, energetic stylized dancing. Dancers will learn fundamentals of isolations, grooves and a wide variety of backgrounds of the style through progressions across the floor, combinations in center and freestyle skills. Designed for dancers age 4-7 as an introductory class. Dancers will require tennis shoes they DO NOT wear outside of the studio for this class 

Mini Musical Theater

Ages 4-7

A movement based class that focuses on learning proper dance technique while exploring the various dance styles used in Broadway shows. Emphasis will also be placed on learning performance skills such as connecting with the audience, telling a story through dance and facial expressions. Designed for dancers ages 4-7 as an introductory class. Dancers do not need shoes for this class. 

Jr/Teen Level Classes

Ages 8-18

Junior Level Classes are beginner/intermediate level curriculum accommodating dancers 8-18 years of age. These classes are offered in a variety of genres.
